About Diana Tang

Diana graduated from Swinburne University (Melbourne) with a BA in Graphic Design. She is an advertising creative by day and a dream-chaser by night. When the sun sets, she deliberates on her passion for all things fashionable. The fine art of shopping is top of her list. Every window display can be a source of inspiration; every new line of shoes can flash a brainwave for her next creation. In between dreaming, she also thinks that if everyone dares to inject that bit of passion into whatever they’re doing, we would be living in a world of difference. Her mantra is to “Love what you create and create what you love”.

Hilltribe Silver Soul Lock

Designer’s concept

“This multi-wearing necklace was inspired by the hilltribe’s “soul lock” necklace. Choosing industrial ropes used by mountain climbers and high-rise cleaners as the key material, I played with vibrant colours and even added carabiners to highlight the message that one should always safeguard her safety and soul. I then worked closely with IEX to develop the structure of this highly versatile necklace which can also be worn in three or more ways.

Again with IEX, I was inspired to modernise the pending using brightly coloured acrylic. From here, we also designed a scarf that can be worn as a belt, tie or headband. The scarf’s graphic theme is inspired by the intricate details of the pending, simplified and streamlined for a more contemporary feel in my signature polka-dot print.”- Diana Tang
